STAINLESS STEEL RELINING

When a visual inspection of the chimney flue reveals cracks or gaps in the terra cotta flue tiles it is a potential fire hazard.  Also, if you have a gas furnace or hot water heater, there is the possible danger of a carbon monoxide leak.  To make the flue safe for use a stainless steel liner is installed in the flue. Never use a fireplace that has cracks or gaps in the flue tiles

MASONRY REPAIRS

Bricks that are flaking or crumbling on your chimney can allow water to penetrate into the flue.  If the chimney needs to have mortar joints filled in or minor masonry repairs, it is best to have those items done before further damage can be caused. The bricks can be replaced as needed, or if your chimney is not safe due to years of deterioration, you may need to rebuild the chimney from the ground up. Sometimes it is only necessary to relay a few courses of bricks and the structural integrity of the chimney itself will remain intact. Minor mortar repairs can also be done to make sure that no water can penetrate into the brickwork.  Also minor mortar work can be done inside the brick fireplace to repair small gaps in the brickwork.
